I met Megan at the beginning of the school year at one of the football games. My first reaction to her was annoyance, solely because she reminded me of Marissa, my old flame, who died in a car accident. Everything about Megan reminded me of Marissa. Megan's smile, Megan's eyes, Megan's laugh, Megan's personality, you name it. Inside, I was afraid that she would bring back memories of my past and I didn't want that. Of course, it wouldn't have been her fault. But still! Instead of ignoring her, I began spending a little more time with her and now, we're relatively good friends with each other. I kinda like her, and if I'm not mistaken, I think she likes me a little, too. Megan's a good and bad influence on me, even though I don't think she realizes it. She's a good influence because I feel like I can let down any walls I've built when I'm around her, even if I try not to. But at the same time, she's a bad influence because I'm constantly scared of getting to close to her. I tend to feel a bit protective of her since we're starting to spend a little more time with each other lately, and I'm afraid that if I'm with her outside of school, something bad might happen to her like it did with Marissa. And let me tell you, it does a hell of a job with my feelings!
